What is PiXasso?
PiXasso is an easy-to-use application (inspired by LateXiT for Mac OSX) which typesets snippets of LaTeX code and creates pictures exportable in various formats via drag-and-drop. Once created, snippets remain available in the history and can be reused or modified.
PiXasso is an open source project released under the GNU GPLv3 licence. It is based on gtkmm, the C++ bindings of the GTK+ toolkit.
How is "PiXasso" pronounced?
The X in PiXasso is the capital greek letter "chi", the same appearing in TeX and LaTeX. So PiXasso is pronounced just like Picasso the painter.
